Description
Timorous Beastie is an unfiltered 46.8º Blended Malt. This undisturbed vatted malt is a Douglas Laing novelty from the ‘Remarkable Regional Malts’ range. The name is a nod to Robert Burns’ poem “to a mouse.” Since 1948 the independent distillery selects different styles of whiskeys. Timorous Beastie Blended Malt is made from a blend of malts exclusively sourced from the Highlands: Dalmore, Blair Athol, Glengoyne and Glen Garioch. His style is intense and complex. On the nose we can find notes of acacia honey, creamy caramels, dried apricots and white grapes. Cardamom and black pepper also appear. The influence of Jerez is noticeable. In the mouth we find a breath of coastal air and mountain heather. It is fruity and spicy, enveloping, with more hints of woody honey.
